Lovelink
Wrote over eight hours of branching romantic story content across three different genres, characters, and storylines.
Lovelink is a free-to-play romantic visual novel app published by Ludia where the player matches with different engaging and appealing romantic partners in a Tinder-esque interface. I wrote the storylines for seasons two and three of the time traveler characters (Nicholas Adley/Elizabeth Baker), season five of the romantic photographer characters (Adam Johnson/Dominic Wright), and seasons one and two of the charming fae character (River Nightshade).
On this project, I…
Wrote 54 episodes (or over eight hours) of interactive romance content for Lovelink across multiple romance subgenres and love interests, including a passionate photographer, a beguiling fae, and a time-travelling English gentleman.
Outlined five seasons of story content, including special “asynchronous” episodes that can occur at any time during a storyline.
Wrote and refined dialogue choices that allow players to express themselves via multiple distinct personality options and designed “premium choice content” that is appealing, but non-punishing for those who choose not to pay.
Carefully studied previous story arcs before writing follow-up seasons, creating cohesive, naturally evolving storylines that call back to previous events (including recurring character, Leonardo DaVinci).
Translated studio direction for a new character, River Nightshade, into dialogue that embodies the character’s playful, teasing, and seductive personality.
Navigated different levels of “spiciness” for different audiences, taking different approaches to sex scenes and intimate moments based on the interests of a given player.
Worked closely with an editor, responding positively to their notes and addressing them in a timely fashion.
